We’ve been home from our cruise on the Carnival Freedom for a few days now. For those of you who might not have noticed, I never posted anything here on the blog about our cruise.

When I made the initial post about my plans to keep a cruise journal I failed to mention one other possible obstacle. I took along a brand-new laptop computer that I got only two days before we left home. I’ve resisted upgrading from MS Windows 7 to Windows 8 and that’s what is installed on the new computer. So …

We’re getting ready for our eight-day cruise on the Carnival Freedom. I’ve decided to try something that I hope will be fun and interesting, but it also involves possible hiccups and glitches.

You’ll notice that the picture with this post has “Cruise Journal” as a sort of title. So you might be able to guess that I’m planning to occasionally post to our blog while we’re on the cruise. Now what could possibly go wrong with that?

When we published our first issue of Fun Time Cruisers magazine we included an interview of Shoshana Fischer who took her baby with her on the Carnival Breeze in January. Recently we’ve seen several questions posted on Facebook about the pros and cons of taken young babies on a cruise. So we decided to revisit the interview here on the blog for any interested folks who might not have seen the original article.

In case you haven’t heard there’s a new Facebook group where folks are posting pictures of the cabins they’ve stayed in. It’s called “Your Cruise Ship Cabin Photos” and it already has nearly 700 members.

I posted some pictures there of the cabin we had for our January cruise on the Carnival Breeze. It’s a one-of-a-kind, oversized ocean view cabin that we featured in an article for our first issue of Fun Time Cruisers digital …

If you watched our interview with John Heald you might remember that when he was talking about how he got started with Carnival he made this comment: “… and then there was an incident involving me and the bar manager.”  

When we did the interview I didn’t think to ask him what that was all about. But I have to admit while I was editing the video I became more and more curious.

Fortunately on July 18 of this year John posted an explanation …

Todd Christopher … better known as “TC” … is one of Carnival’s newest piano bar entertainers (PBE). We first met him during our January cruise on the Breeze. We were quite impressed with his ability to get his audience involved.

So we were really pleased to discover that he was also going to be on the Legend for our May 2014 cruise. We’re especially thankful that he agreed to sit down for an interview.
